The Alzheimer's Project
Ami Simms http://www.amisimms.com has been raising money for Alzheimer's research. More than $110,000 to date. She curated an exhibit that is touring the country to raise awareness (and money) for research. If the exhibit comes to a location near you, go see it...and/or buy the book or CD. She also sponsors an auction each month of small quilts , less than 9" x 12". Since they fit in a Priority mail envelope from the USPS, she calls the project Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts.
While a large number of quilters were in Houston the past week at Festival, the annual show and place to be, us stay at home souls made 69 more little Priority Quilts. They will go on sale in the coming months. For a preview showing go to http://dianedidit.com/stayathome.html
I am proud to be a small part of this project...My little quilts have raised over $1000 so far and I will do more.
